Off the Shelf System

Visionic is a commercial product, and does not require special equipment or software. Installation is fast and straightforward.

User Interface

Following the well-known Visionic philosophy, system design is based on a simple “drag and drop” of selected device into your workspace. User interface is equipped with gradient elements and background drawing in high quality.

Custom dialogs, designed according to your preferences replace old-fashion dialogs.


Unlimited number of clients per M&C server (royalty free) is allowed. Visionic5 new, modern user interface definitely provides both look and feel of well-known, familiar Office 2007 /2010

Devices Drivers Library

Design libraries, incorporated in Visionic GUI, contain hundreds of devices. This feature allows you to draw your design to precisely resemble the real time system. 

Easy to use

Visionic is based on simple, familiar concepts, and it doesn’t require programming experience. It offers a unique user experience and considerably reduces the training time and effort.

Multi-Page Design

Multi-page design allows you to see your system or systems in several alternative views. These different standpoints might provide you a new perspective and lead to new ideas

Wizard Assistant

Visionic user interface incorporates design-time wizards, carefully developed to assist the engineer in system design and optimization.

Simple & Centralized

Visionic5 offers all Visionic functions on one place (Visionic Starter). Project export includes all files required to run the system, including Visio and all drivers. Import effectively (re)installs the system on the computer. Visionic5 can operate without Internet connection, given the fact that all device drivers included in the installation package.

Centralized Control

When a system has multiple GUI workstations connected, the Visionic grants control of the system to one operator at any given time. This way, Visionic proofs your system against the possible human error.

Automation and Macros

Visionic integrated macro recorder and auto-backup elements are designed to allow any kind of automated response.

Scheduled Actions

It is possible to define actions whose execution will be triggered by particular event or in predefined time intervals.

Logging, Charting and Reporting

Every operation, alarm, alarm acknowledgement and any other user action is logged for further analysis. The logs can be stored on the local hard disk, in a form of text files, or in the database, for up to one year. Logs entries can be used for a detailed charting and reporting, based on any selection criteria. The selection criteria are fully definable by the operator. Visionic5 offers integrated replacement for RRDVisLogger. It is not dependent on IIS or SQLExpress and installation is included in Visionic, there is no separate MSI file. Charting and trending definition are part of the project.

Alarm Manager

The system can execute any action in case of equipment's failure or alarm (SMS, phone call, e-mail/pager notification, industrial horn, etc…)

In case of suboptimal conditions, the system will raise an alarm, assigned the severity level (major, minor, warning) represented by colour code. Acknowledgement function allows an operator to remove particular alarm from the list. In addition, events that triggered alarms can be exported to excel file.

Colour coding

Colour-coding of the equipment and its various states allowing perception of the system state at a single glance. The system is refreshed on regular basis keeping the equipment and the colour of the lines always up to date

Security Management

The Visionic supports several levels of security, allowing shared access between several operators with strict user rights management.

Uplink Power Control

Poor weather conditions can seriously affect data transfer, including satellite transmissions, broadcasts or telecommunications. Visionic incorporates Uplink Power Control, a feature designed to prevent the signal loss or degradation and to ensure secure, seamless data transmission regardless of the weather conditions. UPC is based on simple, but efficient principle – it increases the transmission power of the uplink, thus taking over the function of hardware equipment such as amplifiers and significantly reducing the costs.

Remote Spectrum Analyzer Command and Display

Visionic can be used to accurately measure frequency, amplitude and modulation including distortion, spurious, phase noise of any communication signals. SA can demodulate a broad range of standard-based and general-purpose digital signals and formats.

Carrier Level Monitoring

Carrier Level Monitoring Systems provide satellite operators, teleport operators and other service providers the ability to automatically monitor RF carrier performance, with minimal effort.

Full Redundancy

Visionic offers a full system redundancy in case of network faults and interruptions.

Automated G/T Measurements

Automated GT measurements are incorporated. Having advanced access to these measurements enables engineers to address potential issues early in the design cycle.

Compilation system

Complete project is stored in a single VZ file, including all drivers (DLLs), MODBUS and all other settings now in project files.

Visionic Runtime

All Visionic5 files are centralized in one place:MIBs, HOSTS files, registry settings are replaced with files under project settings. Once compiled, the project is independent from the rest of Visionic system.

Visionic Switchboard

The complete Visionic is now started with one icon, from one place. This is the central place for all Visionic projects. It organizes operators' and designers' tasks into one single user interface. Shortcut icons for all Visionic tasks and frequently used features are here.

Project organization

All Visionic 5 projects are stored under a single directory with the file structure compatible with previous versions (ini files). This organization allows easier project management and import/export operations.

Server settings in one place

The server settings, including SNMP templates, MIBs files, MODBUS settings and hosts file setup are now within the project. Because of this, the setup time for new computer with the same project is now minimized and simplified.


The projects are now organized in a single My Documents\Visionic Projects directory. The project’s subdirectory structure include all settings, drivers and files required to run Visionic5 clients/servers.

Changes made easy

The engineers can make the minor (or major) changes easy with Visionic 5 system. The Visio file is now always present on the server; thus system can be changed from the server easily if a valid Microsoft Office is installed on the server. It is now also easy to take the complete snapshot of the system (in a single .VZ file) and restore it on the design workstation. All the settings, in the exact version as on the server, are there instantly.

Project transfer between machines = simple as copying a file

The project transfer between design and runtime computer is now simplified. Instead of creating setups, the designer exports the project into a .VZ file. This file is then opened (imported) on the target server and all project’s settings are instantly available.

Making the changes with confidence

Making changes on the project is now easier with Visionic 5. First the operator can take the snapshot (e.g. export the project) into a file on a flash drive. This snapshot gives the confidence that the project can later be restored, no matter what happens.

Restoring Visionic computers

In case of computers crash, with irreparable HDU or similar damage, it will be much easier to reinstall the complete project with the new Visionic 5. The backup computers and spares for any system can be prepared in advance. The operator action is now reduced to import a single file and run the system as it was before.

Easily upgrade previous versions

The new Visionic 5 has the import feature; which will import the Visionic server settings into the Visionic 5 project. The procedure is simplified and generally it involves recompiling the Visio schematic with the new Visionic 5 compiler.

Server changes

The new Visionic 5 server is rewritten to harness the power of the multicore computers. The device drivers are further isolated; by default they run in separate process and address space from the central server. The result is overall increase of the performances of the system.

New .NET web server

Each Visionic 5 station now serves its own content, via web browser. This allows remote operators to access the system via web browser, install and run the client on the Windows computer or see trends and events on the system in a given time period.

Server console

The server now exposes most frequently used functions via HTTP and GUI console programs. The server console allows writing batch programs to start your customized Visionic system.

Logging engine

The logging of events in Visionic 5 now uses SQLite database as its native format. The logs are stored for up to one year in circular database files. The new logging engine also improves reading performance. The events are now also exposed via XML and/or JSON requests to the server.

Alarm engine

The new server-based alarm engine allows centralized management of all alarms in the system. This means that all alarms are now created on the server. The new system offers better performance and better management of alarms.

Device drivers

The new generation of device drivers has been recompiled to support new features of Visionic 5 server. The access to hardware layer of the computer (via TCP/IP, UDP or serial ports) is now further improved and two devices from different drivers can now share access to the same resource in timely fashion.

Backward compatible with the scripts

The new Visionic 5 is still compatible with custom scripts written for Visionic 4 servers. This minimizes the overall transfer time from Visionic 4 to Visionic 5 systems.

SNMP Device Driver

The new SNMP device driver can each run in its separate process, allowing fast SNMP polling on separate networks with few SNMP nodes. The new driver also now supports internal variables that are not transferred to the client.

Integrated RRDVisLogger

The logging and trending solutions of the previous Visionic versions are now incorporated into one, new version of the RRDVisLogger application. The new logging application is now fully integrated into the Visionic 5 runtime.

Design changes

All system designers are now concentrated onto one place and accessed from the Visionic starter.

Office tab interface

Almost all design and runtime editors now include Office-like tab bar instead of menu bars. This makes programs easier to use and leaner learning curve.

Actions editor

With the all-new GUI editor it is easier than ever to enter conditions and test and transfer between these conditions between projects.

Macro editor

The new, fresh, macro editor has new, modern user interface that shortens the editing time of the macro. The XML access to the macro sources is also included. The designer can now edit and test the macros with ease and confidence.

SNMP Device Editor

The designer can now change MIB-imported enumerated values directly from the editor, for the particular project.

Visio tools

Visio tools are simplified and stencils are extended for quick search for devices.

Tag editor

This editor now works only locally and allows defining and setting up tags in the system.

Device Driver Explorer

The Device Driver Explorer is used to customize display and runtime behavior of elements on the screen. The project now carries its own copy of the drivers; so all changes are local and affect only the current project. Because all device customizations are now within the project, the project is easily and quickly transferred from one computer to another.

Client changes

New UI

The client has new user interface, available immediately after the install. The client will switch to the best rendering mode depending on the client’s abilities and version of the Visionic project.

Universal client setup

The client now behaves much more like browser. Just enter the IP address and voila – the remote client program is started.

Alarm center

In Visionic 5 all alarms are processed on the server side; thus the AlarmCenter became lighter and faster during the work. New options include mute sound, sending traps and speech-synthesizing the text during active alarm.

Log viewer

The new Visionic 5 stores all log files on the server and allows ultra-fast access to them. The new Log Viewer can filter, copy and export CSV files of all Visionic actions performed on the server. The logs are kept for one year.

Web access to charting data

The web access to the charting data is now integrated into the Visionic. End-users can quickly consult & generate charts for all devices and services in the system.
