The new update of Visionic is available – Visionic 4.60
The newest version of the Visionic, version 4.60, is available from today on our web site for the Visionic Premium users. The version 4,60 introduces these important changes and new features
Macro recorder
The macro recorder has been the biggest change in this release. New types of special instructions are introduced: Macro recorder can now wait, execute arithmetic operations, wait, do IF-THEN-ELSE and much more. Second change in macro recorder is the speed: the speed has been massivbely improved in the newest version of the recorder.
MODBUS driver
The driver for standard MODBUS devices has been updated and imporved. It now can drive any kind of MODBUS compatible device, including latest MOXA devices and devices from other manufacturers (Beckhoff).
Visionic performance improvements
Many device drivers have been slightly changed to accomodiate the faster execution in the DEMO mode. The performance of the drivers is slightly increased in the RELEASE mode as well. Almost all server drivers are affected by this improvement.
Next, the SNMP system has been updated so that the polling rates below 15 seconds are automatically “expanded” in the DEMO mode. This helps the performance with systems in the DEMO mode. This does not affect the driver’s release mode.
Client changes
There were changes on the client side as well. The Device Explorer is not auto-refreshing any more; instead the user can switch this on. The new splash screen also has more information and we hope it is more useful too.
Last but not least, the option “Reuse connections to the same server” is now set as default. This option causes Visionic to use single connection toward the server for all pages in the system.
Various fixes
Other notable fixes are UniCommand.DLL – the bug with devices that have summary alarm: the Maintenance is not set on both device drivers. Appeared first time in Visionic 4.51, the newest version of the DLL is throughly tested and verified.
The VisScript (auto-backup) element now exposes all triggers as “variables” (values). This makes it possible to use the VisScript as a sort of calulator on the server-side; it calculates various data points.
The MCDiagProgram (that first appeared in Visionic 4.50) now got the DbgView functionality. Check out this lifghtweight Visionic client and use it instead the DbgView.
